Hi Friends!
It's been just over a month since my last post, did that ever go quickly! I have been struggling to find time and inspiration to get any projects started lately. I was happy to of had a little time to start a page this week and keep the progress going until it was finished!
I decided to keep this page really simple and try out a few new products. I have never tried Prima's Color Bloom sprays so while I was in the city last week I purchased a few. I also just purchased a batch of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide and am super excited to start using them, I've seen a bunch of tutorials on Youtube and the results look amazing!
I started out with white gesso on the page and randomly stamped a script stamp with black archival ink over the page, then I sprayed Glistening Waves Color Bloom spray mostly to the centre of the page and let it dry overnight.
After choosing a few Tim Holtz washi tapes I applied them with glue, I added some "coffee stains" with Lindy's Cafe au Lait Magical. Now comes the Distress Oxides, I took Fossilized Amber and rubbed some on to a piece of plastic, sprayed some water on top and just "stamped" it over the blue randomly and set it with a heat tool. Frayed Burlap was used with a Honeycomb stamp to add some texture to the back ground. I added a little more of the Glistening waves spray in splatters onto the Fossilized Amber and that was it for the background.
I forgot to mention that I did find my "lost" Birds of Alberta book about a month ago, so happy!! One or both of my children found where I had set it down and decided that it would make a great addition to their book collection, I discovered it in a pile of their books one evening while looking for a bedtime story.
Anyways, after selecting the image of the Willow Flycatcher I had adhered it to some white card stock, fussy cut it out and inked the edges with black archival ink and a blending tool. I added some 3D squares and added it to the page. The last step was adding a few Tim Holtz clippings and outlining them with pencil and that's it.
I hope you enjoy what I've created!
Lisa :)
